VINI MURA

 

The company was founded in 1975 on the initiative of Filippo Mura , which included the extraordinary wine vocation of Azzanidò valley , along the ” Sa Castanza ” river.

Currently the company is run by his sons , who have helped to increase the quality of the wines , with the use of modern technologies , always respecting a traditional cultivation and vinification. The particular characteristics of the soil , the climate and the careful selection of grapes , together with the genuine and authentic passion , are the fundamental premises for the production of Mura’s wines.

The farm covers about 20 hectares of vineyards of which 9 with espalier training system. The red grape varieties present in the vineyards are the Cannonau and other typical varieties of the island ; while white grapes are Vermentino.

From Sicily to Sicily. The long journey of Count Paolo Marzotto through wine. From the bottle that the Mother gave him when he was seven years old when,in ’97, he returned to the island as a symbol of a innovative and successful winemaking.

The twenty years since the establishment of Baglio di Pianetto are a story told by the harvests, the wines, the productive evolution of the vineyard, the quest for a highly refined style of winemaking, the achievement of a perfect balance between tradition and innovation.
A technologically advanced process which, nonetheless, never forgets that a great wine is born in the vineyard, not in the cellar.
Baglio di Pianetto’s environmentally sustainable production, confirmed and enhanced by the reconversion of the entire agricultural estate (approx. 160 ha) to organic farming, is born from the will to meet the needs of the many wine lovers who want clear and reliable information regarding what they eat or drink; a choice rewarded by an increasingly diverse and widespread consumer base. 40% of all bottles produced by Baglio di Pianetto are sold outside of Italy: the United States, Japan, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Russia, the Czech Republic,
Canada and many emerging economies are our chief buyers.

Our oil mill of is manage by a family who produces only extra virgin olive oil obtained from the fruit of the Apulian olive trees , through artisanal processing which, unlike an industrially processed oil , guarantees the reduced supply chain, i.e. that the entire process that goes from cultivation to bottling takes place in the surrounding area and within it , without any intermediary.
This means a higher production speed, essential for the conservation of all the organoleptic properties of the oil ..
The olives do not undergo any treatment that is not natural and artisanal.

It’s here that in 1624 the first charge of coffee from Arabia arrived in Europe, together with silks, spices and perfumes.
Carlo Goldoni, the famous Venetian writer, wrote in 1750 La bottega del caffè – The Coffee House, creating a wonderful story and unforgettable characters: it’s them they want to pay homage to with their Cafè Venezia collection.
