NAME’S ORIGIN: Ficiligno is the local stone found in abundance in the soil of the Pianetto estate.
DENOMINATION: Sicilia DOC, organic.
LOCATION: Contrada Pianetto, Santa Cristina Gela (PA).
YIELD PER HECTARE: 9 tonnes.

SOIL QUALITY: medium-textured, rich in clay, gravel and minerals.

FIRST VINTAGE: 2001.
GRAPE BLEND: Insolia – Viognier.
HARVEST: between August and September, manual. The harvest is performed in three different stages to create three bases (acid/ ripe/super-ripe) and bring out the exotic andvoluptuous notes of the Viognier.
VINIFICATION: The grapes manually harvested in small boxes, are immediately transported to the nearby winery and after a further selection of the best fruit cluster, this are destemmed,
to allow maceration inside presses at low temperatures. After soft pressing, the flower must, once racked by gravity in steel tanks, is once again cooled, fovouring a natural decantation. The fermentation, deferred over for the different harvest times, lasts each time more or less 20 days and takes place at a controlled temperature. The maturation in steel tanks continues for other 4 months in sur-lies. A month before bottling, the 3 cuvèes are blended together. A few weeks in bottle before sale.
AGEING: 6 months on the lees in steel tanks. TOTAL ACIDITY: 6.24 g/L.
ALCOHOL: 12,5%.
TASTING NOTES:
COLOUR: Straw yellow with golden hues.
AROMA: On the nose we perceive the broom, the pineapple, the passion fruit, the yellow peach, elegant notes of grass and white pepper.
FLAVOUR AND TEXTURE: In the mouth it is agile and very drinkable, a balanced mix of alcoholic roundness and acidity vein that gives freshness. Very pleasant aftertaste, with a fruity return, amplified by a clear and sapid trace.
FOOD PAIRINGS: As an aperitif, with risotto and light pasta dishes, with vegetables and soft cheeses; its smooth gentle
body matches perfectly with crustaceans and all seafood. Excellent also with pizza.
IDEAL SERVING TEMPERATURE: 7°.
